For Brandon Straker, a passion for fitness came early. As a fitness professional, he understands the value of providing a clear, easy to follow plan that can help people make real life changes. As the co-founder of Tools of Fitness, Brandon is on a mission to provide people with the tools to develop a plan, overcome limiting beliefs, and inspire them to reach their full potential (from the Tools of Fitness Facebook page). During his chat with Tony G., Brandon makes it clear that he loves helping people and realizes the value of helping people make changes that can truly transform their lives.
If you do work you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.
In high school, Brandon realized he needed to find a path that would allow him to be truly happy. He was inspired by a teacher who said, “If you do work you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” That’s when he knew he had to find a way to get into the fitness world. Brandon started by taking an entry-level job at the local gym. By age 19, he was managing the gym and would continue to grow his passion for helping people over the course of the next several years. Today, he is able to connect with clients and offer life-changing help in the areas of nutrition, fitness, and overall wellness.
Making your dreams come true.
After years of working for other people and making their dreams come true, Brandon and his friend & business partner Glenn Dawson knew it was time to get to work on their own dreams. They set out to create a plan that could make it all happen and Tools of Fitness was born. Brandon attributes this shift to the book “Think and Grow Rich”, which helped him see that it was time to stop building someone else’s dreams and start building his own. Today, Brandon and Glenn offer a no-nonsense approach to fitness, which addresses some of the main issues with the fitness industry as a whole. They believe in providing a training program that is designed for the individual, rather than a generic fitness program that works for some, but not for others. If you do work you love, you’ll never work a day in your life, on this episode of #EntrepreneurUnplugged Click To Tweet
The “one day at a time” approach to training.
Starting a fitness program can be tough and it’s easy to get discouraged. For Brandon, it’s all about taking it one day at a time. He works with his clients to help them see the value of focusing on each day, rather than thinking about your goals. It’s easy to get discouraged and that’s why Brandon focuses on keeping his clients motivated every step of the way. Brandon shares why he focuses on working with entrepreneurs and people in the business world, who spend their day sitting at a desk. He also discusses the importance of correcting posture as the foundation for a healthier lifestyle.
The role of intermittent fasting.
One of the keystones of the Tools of Fitness approach to wellness is intermittent fasting. Brandon discusses with intermittent fasting works and some of the results he’s seen with clients on the program. Tony G. also shares the incredible results he’s seen since starting to work with Brandon just a few weeks back. In closing, Brandon gives us insight into his passion for helping people be their very best and how making small changes can have a ripple effect on all areas of their lives. It’s clear Brandon is able to connect people with a training plan that truly works for them.
